RDS 2012 – RD Licensing Role

Adding RD Licensing Role to RDS Deployment.

Lic1
Right Click on RD Licensing and add server

Select the servers you wish to be licensing servers

Once you are happy Click Add.

Configure Licensing per Device or per Cal : Please see the following link for more information http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc753650.aspx

This will configure the licensing server to use PerUser mode.

Once the role service is installed, you will see the RD Licensing Icon appear.

Select Add to Group.

Active the Licensing Server

Right Click on the server and select Activate Server

Enter the the company details as required.

Once you have activated the Licence server, you can than add the licences.

Reporting Services Server cannot connect to the DPM database. ID: 3001




I’m encountered this error message during training material preparation.
Scenario:-
  • Product:- System Center Data Protection Manager 2012 R2
  • SQL Server installed locally with DPM 2012 R2
Problem:-
Error ID 3001:- Reporting Services Server cannot connect to the DPM database
when configure reporting schedule.
Solution:-
1. Open http://ServerName/Reports
2. Open DPM Reports

3. Open DPM ReporterDataSource

4. Change this settings:-
Connect using
X – Credentials stored securely in the report server and enter the credential that have access to DPM Database
X – Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source

5. Click Test Connection and make sure the connection created successfully and click Apply
6. Re-configure DPM reporting schedule.
